Herring Gulls Plumage Question (1 Viewer)

Quick question.....Do HG's of all ages show a white 'window' on the inner primaries when viewed from underneath, and are they the only gulls that do so, or do Yellow-Legged Gulls and Caspian Gulls also show the same characteristics?
Cheers

Really need to differentiate ages when considering this feature, it applies mainly to young birds with Caspian and Herring having obvious pale inner primaries, less so. As adults of all species have black outer primaries the inner primaries are inevitably paler but none should really be white.
