Sam is dead (1 Viewer)

Poor thing at least it got a few months more of life than it would have done if it had not been rescued.

Koalas are bought into us fairly regularly, usually victims of dogs or cars.
I pass them onto specialist koala carers but we did have a young one in whose mother died from injuries from a dog attack.
That little cutie got rehabilitated and rejoined other local koalas successfully.
Here is a pic of mother and baby when they came in, it was so sad.

Sams story is sad to and amazing that it went around the world like it did.
Koalas dont generally drink water (they get moisture from the leaves) so it was amazing to see Sam drinking from the bottle and evidence of how dehydrated he must have been.
Bushfires suck and a lot of animals took refuge in wombat holes while the fires rages.
Predator and prey put the differences aside as they huddle together and wait for the fire to go over.
Cheers

At least she had a few months of love and care. That was the most poignant film clip i ever saw, when it was first televised, brought a tear or two too my eye. Well done to that firefighter too, the man was a hero in more ways than one.
