Cape May in July ? (1 Viewer)

Looks like I will be free for the weekend 16th & 17th July and based in Princeton NJ, might consider a drive to Cape May,

Anyone able to advise if birding scene in July is worthwhile and liklihood of early migrant warblers ?

It's been years (I lived in Philly '82-'86) but that seems a bit early for most. Though there could be some early shorebirds moving through then based on my recollections.

For warblers you might do better going in the opposite direction and heading north west. I believe the Old Mine Road/Delaware Water Gap area of NJ should still have its good assortment of nesting warblers that time of year. This area is maybe 2 hours north of Princeton.

Reading through the threads of these 2 listservs should give you a good indication of what is going on in the state bird-wise right before you arrive -->
