Black Phoebe was the first thing that came to my mind too. But on a Black Phoebe I believe the black goes further down onto the breast of the bird, so I do not think that this is a Black Phoebe.

I am not sure what this bird might be!

Yes, I thought of that too, but then I couldn't think of any species it might be.

Is it a North American bird?
 
It looks like that extremely endangered New Caledonian Robin or something, to me.
