Large white has a specific look about it that you'll soon learn with experience.

Specifically:

Male large large whites have no dark spots. Female large whites have two large black spots and a black dash. Only male small white has a small single dot, so this can be identified by a process of elimination (this only applies to the upper surface, not the underside).

The black tip is certainly much more extensive in large white where it extends along 50-60% or more of the outer wing margin (in your photo it is 10% or less of the wing margin). This applies for both the upper and lower surface of the wings.

On the lower surface of the wings the forewing tip is dark grey in large white (while the hindwing is yellow). On small white the tip is yellow, just like the hindwing.

Remember these 3 points (the 2nd is most important) and you are good to go.
