Just back from a quick trip to the North of Thailand. Although a family holiday, I managed to squeeze in 2 days of birding:
Chiang Dao on the 31 December 2014
Doi Lang on the 2 January 2015
Both places were great with lots of new birds for me to photograph. Highlights included:-
Chiang Dao
Silver Pheasant (an almost tame “wild” pheasant that jumped up and sat on my lens at one point.)
Scaly-breasted Partridge
Gray-eyed Bulbul
Blue-bearded Bee-eater
Asian Stubtail
Streaked Wren-Babbler
Siberian Blue Robin
Dark-sided Thrush
Ebird checklist here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S21093387
Doi Lang
Hume’s Pheasant (a male bird in the early morning)
Giant Nuthatch (several…they make a lot of noise in the morning)
Blyth’s Shrike-Babbler
Brown-breasted Bulbul
Ashy Bulbul
Gray-headed and Spot-breasted Parrotbill
Rusty-cheeked Scimitar-Babbler
Spectacled Barwing
Ultramarine Flycatcher
White-gorgeted Flycatcher
Slaty-blue Flycatcher
Gould’s Sunbird
Ebird checklist here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S21134494
Some photos below, more to follow.
Cheers
