Unidentified bird of prey - Newton, MA - northeast USA (1 Viewer)

procrastinatus

New member
Sighting at 11am on 8/15/2020.

This bird appeared to be quite large - larger than a chicken - with wingspan greater than 3ft.

The bird flew in low from the forest behind the clearing to successfully snatch what appears to be a field mouse and flew back into the forest.
