I'm not sure of a better place to put this, so...
The bird-song sound files generously provided on this site at <http://www.birdforum.net/bsong.htm> are recorded at a bit-rate not supported by the Media Player included with Pocket PCs such as the Compaq iPAQ (and probably other such devices).
I'm sure many birders will want to use them on such a device, so it might be handy if they could be available at a suitable bitrate (no I don't know what that would be).
Alternatively, they can be converted using a number of utilities, or Pocket PC users can the freeware application WinampPAQ to play them.
WinampPAQ <http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pocketpc/winampaq.html> is free. It's a standalone program, I had to create my own start menu item, but it can be run by navigating to the file using file explorer.
