I allowed me to revive this thread because I'm looking for this article in full text please :

Ogawa, L. M., D. R. Blanc-Goldhammer, E. L. Adams, and M. van Tuinen (2008). A first molecular phylogenetic study of grebes (Aves: Podicipedidae).

As far as I can see, it exists only as an abstract (in here); presumably it was never published as a full paper?

The 2008 abstract claims data for all living and 3 recently extinct species; no such data set currently exists in GenBank (i.a., GenBank has zero Poliocephalus sp. sequences).
This almost certainly means the study was never published in a peer-reviewed outlet.
