My husband built me a bird pergola last spring (2007) to help attract birds to our yard because the trees are small yet. It has worked wonders and I have an area that my dogs do not go into because we have the invisible dog fence in front of it....I didn't want the dogs eating the bird seed and droppings..
The pergola has brought so many birds into my life that I would not have had if I didn't have it. I have even had a large coopers hawk sitting on top of it..now that was a picture..I will show you below.. I have had squirrels enjoying the view too..

How nice, built just for the birds to give them shelter and a sense of security. Well done.
