Hi!

I'm looking to buy a scope.
At the first i looked for kowa TSN-821 but now i am more interested for Pentax PF-80ED-A. What do you think? The Pentax is a bit cheaper then the Kowa.

There a probably a thousand eyepiees that will work in the Pentax and Pentax arguably makes the best eyepieces. Howerver that Pentax 80 is a bit on the ponderous side of large.

Look at what is diffrent to make your decision. IMHO the basic optics are not that different.

My first thoughts would be the type of lens glass. The Kowa 821 has plain glass and the Pentax has higher quality ED glass.

For normal viewing it may not make too much difference, but if you ever decide to take photos through the scope the ED glass is likely the better choice.

Having owned a Kowa 611 and a Kowa 823 I certainly like the construction and build quality. I rate the 823 very close to the Swarovski I now own as regards performance.
