UK grebe (1 Viewer)

Can anyone help me with this one please. The obvious candidate for me is red-necked grebe but the head plumage, neither juvenile nor adult seems to match with my Collins guide. I took it on a freshwater lake in the Knapdale forest a week ago. It seemed to spend most of it's time underwater.

I've seen umpteen little grebes but for some reason this one had me completely fooled. It never even entered my head.

Thanks a lot Tom, Steve & Samuel
