putative Citrine Wagtail x Yellow Wagtail (1 Viewer)

Dear birders,

This wagtail:

...was seen at Blaavand at the extreme western point of Denmark in May 2003.

The bird has been submitted to the Danish Rarities Committee as the first ever record in Denmark of a hybrid Citrine Wagtail x Yellow Wagtail.

Danish birders are not familiar with the variation of flavissima Yellow Wagtail and I hope that some of our British colleagues can tell whether this bird is outside the variation of flavissima and if not if there exist any photographic evidence of flavissima Yellow Wagtails which are similar to this bird.

Thanks in advance,
Andreas Bruun Kristensen

Not that I feel competent to comment on this bird, but surely some experienced (British?) birder could throw some light over this interesting wagtail.

In anticipation.

Regards
Peter

Maybe the silence from Britain means "no, I've never seen anything like this but I'm not going to rule it out", waiting for others to jump in. Certainly I've never seen a flavissima remotely like this bird.
