The Daddy Lion
Hi, I saw this sparrow at a friend's feeder, eating with huge numbers of finches and House Sparrows. I noticed it was quite large compared to the finches, it had both rust and gray on its head. It also was streaked below. I have an idea what it might be, but I want to hear from the knowledgable folks on this forum.

Thanks for your patience!

That was my idea, I just was making sure that's all it could've been. It kinda reminded me of a Tree Sparrow, but the streaked breast rules that out.

Thanks for the help!

Fox Sparrow is much bigger than tree sparrow. Young sparrows of many species have this streaking but most are in adult plumage now.

Go with the Fox Sparrow. Look for some very warm brown parts on it.
