Too bad there don’t seem to be any active Birdforum members from the island of Newfoundland anymore, because they’re having one heck of a spring migration out there on the Rock - mostly courtesy of the WP.
So far, just in the east (St. John’s and the Avalon Penninsula), they’ve had two Common Redshank, several Black-tailed Godwits, a Northern Wheatear, and over 150 European Golden-plovers! Plus a few slightly more domestic species, like Ross’ Gull.
I’m a couple of thousand km. west of there, but even I am going to start checking the fields for funny-looking plovers…
