China passerine - wren sp? (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

Not sure where to start with the attached bird. Seen in woodland in Hangzhou.

The species appeared to be fairly common and was notable due to its memorable call/song. This was a two-noted call - a high pitched monotone "thin" whistle for a few seconds followed by a louder descending note. Not sure whether this helps with ID.

At first thought the bird was a warbler spp, but the pics have some wren qualities to my eyes.

Apologies for the blurry pics - low light meant I had to use high ISO and slow shutter speed.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Kevin

if it sounded like this then it's your Brownish-flanked. this is one that I recorded this evening - a very common bird around here.
