Female RFF Somerset. What age? (1 Viewer)

Think I'd suggest 2cy female rather than adult, on basis of retained brownish coverts (look brown in one shot anyway) and central tail feathers different colour - different age - than outers. But I've certainly not seen enough RFF to be very confident!

PS Crossed with above: as often happens, while I'm deciding what to say, a decisive person acts!!

;) You're perfectly right regarding the coverts also though. Retained juvenile brownish coverts with light fringes also indicates a 2 cy bird.

Ah yes Ola, that's the bit that took me an extra 6 minutes to write after your post! Glad we seem to agree anyway
