Afternoon Play (45 min)
Broadcast on Radio 4 - Fri 02 Feb - 14:15

Hide, by Paul Farley. Two bird watchers are peering through the slats of a hide and talking. Then something rare turns up outside and a visitor joins them inside.

Listened to it in the car this afternoon. Amazingly, was very affectionate and pretty accurate on the birding side! Nice little story, too.

Did anyone else listen to this? What did you think? I must say I was taken aback to hear the BBRC, oystercatcher calls, and the latin name for Bonaparte's gull taking centre stage in a drama, but I did rather enjoy it.

I thought the birders came over as a bit wimpy and miserable, not at all like my experience, good little play though.

I missed this, thanks for the reminder. I enjoy a good radio play more than a film anyday.

Com'on Mick, I can't be the only one who has met a wimpy and miserable birder or two in my time. Anyway perhaps Bill O wasn't available. ;-)
