    This Wood Pigeon had finally succeeded in getting at the berries on the Rowan tree in the garden. Not many birds seem to be attracted to these lightly coloured berries apart from the pigeons and starlings. A 50% crop from a full frame shot.

    The migrating birds were attracted to the dogwood berries. Many deletes before I got the berry in the beak. Thrush was a bit skittish.

    Dug out a few filters from my film camera storage boxes, among them are a few close-up filters of 52mm diameter. Attached a Nikon No.1 close-up to my panasonic 14-45mm and took a few shots. This is a crop from one. Lumix G1, 14-45mm + Nikon close-up No.1 ISO250, f8 -.33EV, 1/500sec.

    Redwing tucking into berries. I should point out I cloned out a bit of twig from across the birds breast so not a true Natural History image, but the head and beak are not quite as sharp as I would have liked so I wasnt messing about with anything special.

    At least four species feed on ivy berries in spring including Mistle Thrush. Caught this one in flight. For perfect photo would have been nice to have one with berry clasped in bill!
