    African Shrike-Flycatcher composite

    A rarely photographed bird. Sometimes placed in the genus Bias. These small active birds stick to the canopy where they are difficult to see. The species is sexually dimorphic, the dapper black and white male contrasting with the brown spot-breasted female.

    This is the male. Has a very curious habir of wagging it's tail from side to side when perched , like the pendulum on a clock!
