    Taken from one of the farm tracks at the Oued Massa. The bird was barely 5 metres away and too close for digiscoping. I zoomed out just enough to get rid of the vignetting and only got one shot away before it disappeared into a thicket.

    A bird I found much more impressive in the flesh than the Guidebooks suggested. They have a mean-looking hooked beak typical of the Bush-Shrikes & the same furtive habits. Though this bird allowed a fairly close approach it refused to leave dense cover & this was the "cleanest" image I could get.
