    I only noticed him until he was about three feet away, and even then he calmly walked away. I would expect a male to be bluer than this, but it is early spring afterall :)

    My brother and I had heard of sightings of the bird in So. Sierras. Spent much time trying to see them to no avail. Then, while in Yosemite, this male just walks up to me - go figure.

    This faithful mom was watching over her cute chicks in the grass below. She was very tame.

    I spent the weekend at an elevation of over 10,000 ft (approx 3,050 m) looking for mule deer, and I ran across several blue grouse to photograph. They are very calm.... this shot was taken at only 210mm.
