    Had my first encounters with Cedar Waxwings earlier this month. Such pretty birds :)

    Many of these beauties were nearby the summer. I think they ate the last of my raspberries, which so happen to be gone on a day I saw a sentinel watching from a near-by pine tree.

    The Cedar WaxWings come through our little slice of heaven for a brief period every spring. Usually it is just for a day and they come as a fairly large group and seem to enjoy the nectar for our eucalyptus flowers. We have a few holly berries which they also take, but they really seem to love...

    The previous day before I took this picture, I saw these birds catching insects on the wing over a pond. The next morning I went back and the trees were loaded with Wax wings catching bugs off the trees. It was great to see so many so close, they paid no attention to me as they went about thier day.
