    Flight shots of crows never seem to work particularly well (it's difficult to capture fine plumage detail, especially against the light) but I'm wondering what this bird is carrying in its bill. It doesn't look like an acorn. All suggestions welcome. Storm Eunice is due to hit Britain tomorrow...

    This plain black bird is one of my favorites. Ron asked me what the nuts were. So I thought I'd mention it here as well. I'm pretty sure they're hickory nuts which are extremely hard to crack. My feeling is that they were scattering them on the pavement to let a car tire do the work for them.

    These crows have nested year after year here. As crows go, they are pretty friendly, but if you forget their corn in the morning, they will let you know.

    Klang is the crow capital of Malaysia.This pissky common crow is a pain in the b... he always follows me in my patch and keeps shouting that doc is here and makes my birding a pain.But got you this time-anti-birder.
