    When we left a local lake on Thursday two groups of mixed geese flew in ahead of a downpour with hail and thunder. To my surprise they were still there yesterday. Among the Canadas and Greylags was as far as I could tell a single Barnacle Goose which we wouldn't normally see.

    After more than 3 hours of snow falling lots of birds appeared to come to feed in the garden.
