  1. Snow Geese in flight

    Snow Geese in flight

I was chasing after the Short-Eared Owls when I saw some birds fly overhead. I wasn't paying attention and thought they were Canadian Geese until I looked at my SD card later
  2. Snow geese in a private field

Snow geese in a private field

Couldn't get close to the snow geese. Its hunting season, so they are smart and hunkering down in private fields.
  3. Geese migrating on a cloudy day

Geese migrating on a cloudy day

A small flock of Canada geese migrating towards the South is a common sight here in southern Oregon. This particular group was flying alongside some lovely low-hanging clouds - and the resulting photograph made me think of a painting.
  4. All the geese!

    All the geese!

Greater white-fronted geese and Tundra bean-geese. This is really how far away most of the birds were, so after being cropped a lot of my photos are very pixelated.

Looking for two specific scientific papers on goose behaviour.

Hi, I've been searching for these two papers for a while but nothing, yes I know they can be bought or borrowed but my college cant borrow them and im a broke college student. So does anyone own a copy of these that they don't mind sharing? I'm looking for: Agonistic behaviour in barnacle...

    Canada geese on the move

Spring weather has been here in northern British Columbia, on and off, for about 2-3 weeks now, although the big lake (Charlie L.) is still covered with thick ice. Small sloughs and ditches are starting to open up though and all the snow except parking lot piles is gone. I saw the first flight...

    Canada Goose - Flight patterns

Here in central Wyoming, over that last months the Geese have been leaving their river roosts like clockwork, very predictable. About 10 days ago, without any substantial/apparent change in weather (20's at night mid 30's during day), multiple roosts haven't been leaving the water at all, all...

"Blue" Snow Goose? - Washington State USA

Over 2000 white geese and who catches my eye? "Blue," malanistic or something else enjoying that community feeling? (Why is it called blue, if they are brown?) Yes, this is the first time I have seen Snow Geese close up! Thanks!

    Flying geese in the Netherlands

Hi guys, Here are some geese flying in formation over the beach of the Wassenaarse Slag in the Netherlands. The photo was taken on the 9th of January this year (the second photo is just a cropped version of the first one). I'm really not sure that the photos are good enough to make out any...

Dark-bellied Brent Goose (Island of Texel, Netherlands, March 27 2021)

Last weekend when observing Brent Geese on Texel (Waddensea side) I saw 2 or 3 very light-coloured individuals in the midst of a large group of "appropriately" dark looking Dark-bellied Brent Goose. At first I assumed that I was observing Pale-bellied Brent Goose. But later I started to doubt...

    Bar-headed Geese -1

From archives. Because of the lockdown it is mainly armchair birding these days and the local birds are getting tired of seeing the old lens and the face behind.

  21. Hooded Merganser

    Hooded Merganser

No sparkling blue water but instead located in the marsh. This is the first time I have seen one. I clicked away to try to salvage a good photo. The lighting wasn't participating with me and after editing on my Photoshop elements 2018 I added some contrast and obtained this. It is a pretty...

Got these two girls resting at a neighborhood. I thought they were cute. I think the one on the left might be a Mamma or an older female.
