  1. Surf Parrotfish

    Surf Parrotfish

I am not absolutely sure about the identification of this beautiful parrotfish, but I think this is a Surf Parrotfish (Scarus rivulatus). I filmed them at the Jetty on Heron Island.

    Capricorn Silvereye

A Capricorn Silvereye (Zosterops lateralis chlorocephalus) feasting on the Sweet Sandpaper Fig (Ficus opposita). When I was on Heron Island in July 2019 I noticed the many silvereye birds, one of my favorite birds, if not even my most favorite bird by now. So, I wanted to film these beautiful...

    Pied Oystercatcher / Australian Oystercatcher

I filmed this Australian Oystercatcher in the early morning at the north east coast of Heron Island while he was continuously calling.
  5. Pacific Reef Herons

    Pacific Reef Herons

I saw this pair of Pacific Reef Herons, a light morph and a dark morph, on the north east coast of Heron Island. Besides the Pacific Reef Herons you can also hear a high pitched call which is the call from an Australian Oystercatcher.
  6. Black-naped Terns

    Black-naped Terns

I was about to depart Heron Island on that day, and I noticed a group of terns at the coast. Since I have noticed that there were some terns amongst them which I have never seen before, I went down to lay on the ground and film these very interesting terns.
