  1. A Friendly Jackdaw

    A Friendly Jackdaw

I said I'd post a more conventional picture of the Jackdaw that joined us for lunch on our last day and this is it.
  2. Jackdaw against the sky

    Jackdaw against the sky

When we stopped for lunch at Råa (coffee and sandwiches on a bench) this Jackdaw joined us even though we didn't feed it. I'm tired of the Jackdaws in our garden as they eat our fat balls in no time and chase the smaller birds away but this one was a real charmer. I took a lot of more...

Jackdaws. At least 15 counted at one point. They were the most abundant bird seen in this part of the country. Plucking what I believe may be the winter coat for nesting material.

    Jackdaw with deformed beak

We saw this bird while waiting for the boat to Gotska Sandn. Despite the odd beak he seemed quite healthy and well-nourished. Busy day today so early posts.
  14. Jack

    Jack

One of the two pairs that nest in our chimneys When we moved here two years ago we had a logburner installed and the sweep removed six large bags full of sticks, dust and rubbish which the Jackdaws had accumulated over the years :eek!:

Study of a jackdaw at work. He/she worked through this pile of dried grass, just to fly away with... nothing.
