    We stopped to have a scan around and my sister said.... what are they? What, where? Shelduck.... but how to get a picture.... couldn't focus, there was a bank of long grass just in front of them. Tried climbing up on the narrow grass verge, but couldn't get my balance. This was the least worst...

    The lovely bay where Columba would have landed. The wee island is..... well just about unpronouncable LOL..... hard enough to spell it, which I've done on the picture. It really was worth the half hour stop - you could be there even longer, as there was a path taking you up into the hills...

    We didn't see too many birds that day, or at least ones to photograph. So a few 'other wildlife' and views to follow. We turned briefly, off the main Knapdale road to visit St Columba's Cave near Ellary on the side of Loch Caolisport. On a derelict building I found this pretty flower growing...
