    A Lesser coucal perching on an open branch. I was riding on my motorbike when I passed by something brown and black on an open tree. I turned around and pulled out my trusty 7D II, took a few shots and got this. It's my first encounter with the species too.

    Living in a tree in my front yard, and having wintered in the same tree now for 3 years, this wee little one is practically a family member...I don't know where he spends his summers, but his familiar song pops up in September to let me know he's back.
