    Acorn woodpecker with an acorn in his beak!

    Saw this male acorn woodpecker during a morning walk in Southern Oregon; at the moment I snapped this particular photo, he happened to have half of an acorn in his beak!

    Red-tailed Hawk in southern Oregon

    This red-tailed hawk swooped overhead and then rose swiftly, I barely had time to raise my camera and try to zoom in for one or two shots.
