    Oman -- Lesser/Greater Sand-Plover? -- al-Khaluf (near Masirah Island / Bar al-Hikman)

    I believe this is a Lesser Sand-Plover in non-breeding plumage but wanted to double check, but maybe it's a Greater. Hard to tell the bill size with such blurry photos (sorry, they were taken through my windshield!) Some pictures also have a Sanderling in them. Photos are all of the same...

    The early Sand Plover gets the worm

    A Lesser Sand Plover tugs on his brunch. Though rather plain in winter, these birds are quite attractive in their summer attire.
