    Double-Crested Cormorant juvenile looks on with curiosity as I slowly drift closer in my kayak to its perch on a log in the middle of the lake.

    This was the last bird I photographed during a year long stay in Tennessee. The last full day I was there, it sat on the top of a bush right outside the apartment. It allowed me to walk in, grab the camera, come back out, and take about 20 shots. I can only say "Thank You!"

    This bird landed at this spot at the same time as an Eastern Wood Pewee landed a foot or so further out this branch. The nuthatch did not move from this spot until after the flycatcher had flown on.

    This and a nuthatch landed on the same branch at the same time. The nuthatch stayed on the underside and with its belly all the way up until the flycatcher continued its flight to elsewhere.

    The smaller bird is an Indigo Bunting, and the other a female Northern Cardinal. They were sharing a small poodle in a parking lot late afternoon.
