UK- Wiltshire- Fovant- January- Eurasian or Short-toed Treecreeper

Hello 👋🏻 This is my first post so any tips gladly received. This little one is in my garden (January 2024). I’ve tried to work out which one it is but can’t be certain. I have more photos and video. Help please?

    Dunnock

Checking back on my holiday pics now and finding the ones I missed out on in the first run through. Another lovely Dunnock from my sister's garden in Wiltshire (ooops thanks Kim, sorry for confusing you). TTTW
  15. Kennet and Avon Canal

    Kennet and Avon Canal

As my hard drive broke, I got a bit muddled as to which pictures I'd shown you from my holiday. Here's a picture of the delightful Kennet and Avon Canal at Great Bedwyn, it's looking the other way from a previous photo.
  16. Blue-tailed Damselfly

    Blue-tailed Damselfly

This was taken at the Cotswold Water Park, a huge area of lakes, some nature reserves, others for water sports and angling etc. We saw a nature reserve on the map called Lower Moor and set off to visit it.... hmmm the signage wasn't very good but we found our way in eventually! We didn't see...
  17. Avebury Ring

    Avebury Ring

Last year I showed you a bit of the ring on the NW side, this view is the SW area, which you pass on the way to and from the car park. It's a huge site with a village inside it and a main road running through it too. The ditch really is as deep as it looks.
  18. Knap Hill

    Knap Hill

That afternoon we had a drive a little south of Marlborough to Knap Hill. A few weeks before the slope had been covered in wild flowers, but they were all passed by then unfortunately. This picture was taken looking south towards Salisbury Plain. And no, I didn't climb the hill, that's a climb...
  19. Dunnock

    Dunnock

My sister has some lovely visitors to her garden and amongst them about 4 Dunnocks. They feed on her patio so come pretty close, but generally I was having to take the pictures through the double glazing. Thanks for joining in the fun on yesterday's picture, I'm still deciding on the winner, as...
  20. The Birds

    The Birds

I knew there were a lot of birds at the far end, but didn't realise quite how many until something appeared to spook them. I took this picture as they were beginning to settle down again. Now I know there's Canada Geese and a couple of Cormorants but what else do you see. Oh I know there's...
  21. South Lake

    South Lake

Well I think this one was called South Lake, the third of the lakes we visited at Langford. From this one you can just seen in the far distance three artificial islands which I presume were used by terns or something for nesting. Behind them the shore was just covered in birds of all sorts...
  22. Langford Lakes view

    Langford Lakes view

This is the first of the lakes you come to at this Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Reserve. There's some platforms (not sure if they were for viewing or fishermen to sit on LOL). This particular lake had the Great Crested Grebe families and later on we saw a Kingfisher on the far side, deep in...
  23. Tufty family

    Tufty family

On the southern edge of Salisbury Plain is a nature reserve called Langford Lakes, a series of worked out gravel pits. It was very hot and virtually windless, but we wandered along the track, stopping at the various viewing platforms and saw some Great Crested Grebes feeding their young (too...
  24. All go at Great Bedwyn

    All go at Great Bedwyn

After the view above Hungerford, we dropped down and called in on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Great Bedwyn. We'd just parked when this old jalopy pulled in and I just couldn't resist.... sorry! Behind it you can just see a narrow boat on the far side, but the main point of interest here was...
  25. Eurasian Bittern

    Eurasian Bittern

I had a short break with my sister at her new house in Marlborough a few weeks ago now. She took me here, there, and everywhere... so one day we ended up at Cotswold Water Park - this is a huuuuge area. There's lots of disused gravel pits given over to various uses, some of which are nature...
