2 note bird call - UK, Gloucestershire (1 Viewer)

I keep hearing this bird call- I can't work out what it is. It's just 2 notes and the second note is like an ascending whistle.

I attach a video so you can hear. You can hear the bird making the sound at 6 seconds, 11 seconds, 19 seconds and 22 seconds. The bird itself is not visible in the video.

It could be a very obvious bird but I just can't work out what it is! Thank you

Hi enty and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

Great Tits have such a wide variety of calls, that a good rule of thumb is, if you don't recognise the call, it's a Great Tit. So I'll agree with Pat LOL.

You can hear another of their calls in our Opus article for the species here: Great Tit - BirdForum Opus

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

amazing - thank you Pyrtle and Delia. I would NEVER have worked that out as I am so used to the 'tee cher' song or the noisy distress call. I was somewhat fearful that is was going to be an obvious bird and I would reveal my ignorance ๐Ÿ˜…

I wouldn't worry about that, many "top" birders fall foul of these, I think they also have slight dialects too.
