50 years of Life on Earth (2 Viewers)

This one is a long way off, but the BBC is planning to mark the 50th anniversary of Life on Earth in January 2029. They're hoping to get David Attenborough involved in some way and I'd imagine that would be recording stuff sooner rather than later given his age (98 at the moment).

Blew my mind as an 8 y. o. lad! Suspect many people had a similar experience.
It really paved the way for quality large-scale wildlife programmes.

For me it's still the gold standard. I think all the Life series (up to First Life) written and presented by Attenborough are all of a high standard in terms of depth of information.

The only other series I think that stands alongside these in terms of depth of information presented was Earth Story with Aubrey Manning.

The Ascent of Man (Jacob Bronowski was it?) wasn't bad either. Who was Controller of BBC2 when that was broadcast?

Edit: I've just checked. You will be unsurprised to learn that it was David Attenborough.

AI will make it possible to resurrect the great DA, if needed. It's wonderful having grown up with the likes of him on the telly. (I have a US passport, but I grew up in Milksnatcher's England)
