A gull & a duck, Sizewell Beach, 22nd November (1 Viewer)

As said in the title, just wanted to check these.
They look a bit strange, but I believe it may actually be because of the poor quality photos and overexposure, and therefore just a trick of the light meaning its a Goldeneye (I did see others on the sea), and the gull, potentially just a herring gull with quite a distinct head pattern?

Common Goldeneye for the first bird, second looks like a Herring gull cannot tell if the face pattern is just the result of image artefacting or just a strange individual.
