Advice for Newbie re Canon Powershot SX60HS Zoom (1 Viewer)

Hi
Greetings to all
May I ask advice re the Canon Powershot SX60HS please.
I read the online manual states it is not possible to use the zoom during a video recording.
Does this mean it is possible to zoom in first, and then start the video recording?
Or does it imply that video recording can only be done without the zoom, which effectively means the camera is useless because one can't take a long distance video of a bird in flight.
Thank you kindly

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits.

You might get some advice if you ask in the Canon board of the forum.

Hope this helps!

Hi Newbie and a warm welcome from me too. I've moved your post to the Canon camera subforum. I'm sure you'll find them helpful.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
