American cuckoo in flight? (1 Viewer)

Do American Cuckoo's resemble small hawks or falcons in flight? I was with a group today, we saw and heard Yellow Bill's, and we also saw small Merlin-like flying birds that did not scare the utter be-Jesus out of songbirds. Thanks in advance.
