Are Factory New Binocular Boxes Factory Sealed? (1 Viewer)

Hello. I am looking at a pair of Viper HD 12 X 50 from a local retailer. I am wondering if factory new items come in a sealed box?

Thank You

Maybe someone who knows will respond to your precise question. In the meantime, assuming you plan to try the bins at the retailer, IMO whether the box is "sealed" in some way is much less important than whether the specific example you test is in good working order and suits you. "Try before you buy" is the short version of the mantra. It includes "and buy the one you try" if you like it. There is sample variation even in brand new bins especially w/r/t eyecup, focus, diopter function and hinge tension.

I would suggest that they are firstly boxed and sealed in the country where they are produced / manufactured.....eg China, Japan etc. Then shipped to the headquarters of the brand (Barneveld, Winconsin) where they will be QA sampled and have the warranty cards / paperwork signed and enclosed before shipping out to retailers. Most units come sealed unless specified otherwise such as "like new in box". However, they might well be shipped directly to a distribution centre then onwards to the sales outlet.
Why not call them directly and ask, as they're located in your county?
