Recently back from a 12 night stay in Caleta de Fuste. Tended to bird for an hour or two each morning with the odd sea watch dependent upon tide times. My wife isn't a birder so, as usual, it's doing what I can, when I can.
The attached PDF details the areas where I birded and includes a detailed taxonomic list of the species I saw.
Particularly pleasing was catching up with the long staying Eastern Yellow Wagtail at Barranco de La Florida (at the second attempt) and then finding the Black Kite near the tip, just north of the 'Dwarf Bittern' barranco, which itself is a great couple of hours birding. Also enjoyable was another couple of hours birding on the plains north west of Tindaya where I saw a displaying male African Houbara plus a female at a separate location 1km away.
I'll attach a few photos shortly. I'm primarily a birder and tend to photo what I see when I'm out, rather than being out solely with my camera when the light is better. While the photos are ok, they are a little soft due to the harsh midday sun and heat haze etc.
