Good Day.

My name is Kevin, from UK. I joined the forum mainly for help to i.d some binoculars my wife and I have recently acquired. My wife and I are also interested in Birds as well, both feathered and metal (both big aviation geeks).

The first pair are from Carl Zeiss Jena. Guessing made for military use with the markings. DF 7 x 50, serial number possibly is 2148197. It also has N 42028 on the rightside. The first 5 pictures show these.

The second pair, as shown in the last 3 pictures, don't appear to have any manufacturer's markings. They have German military markings, display on the rightside is an N, DF 7x 50, and number 3564. Also what looks like the number 66282 on the end of the middle barrel.

Any help and information is grateful received.

Thank you and have a good evening.

Kevin & Jessica

Hello,

With a serial number of 2148197, that would put it in 1941/42 production. The second on is puzzling, although it does bear German Navy markings. Is it also a 7x50?

Happy bird watching,
Arthur

Regarding above photograph, it is necessary to touch in bottom left corner of picture to open a Flickr link for a description of the binocular.
