Bird Fair 2008 - visitors from the north (1 Viewer)

Have had a call from Mr Morris (Jim) requesting our presence for this year's Bird Fair and annual trip to Rutland Water.

I'm working on Saturday, but am trying to arrange a posse for Sunday. Dave (Fatrat) myself and Seahawk are travelling down and hope to have Brian joining us - depending on other commitments etc.

Ant, are you still going and if so will we see you on the Sunday? - normally I am there on the Saturday, but poor planning this year.

Approx 160 miles with a stupid o'clock start makes it just about a viable daytrip;)

Take your time Steve, you have untill 2008 to get there. Only 160 miles, if you average 3 miles a week your just make it. I look forward to seeing you all there this week-end (2007)
HAPPY BIRDING

Hi Steve,
Oh what a shame, I would loved to have met up with you but I'm leaving Sat night.
My plan is to spend Fri & Sat at Rutland. Apart from visiting the Fair, the area is great for birding. Ive been keeping my eye on the Leicestershire & Rutland bird guides. Latest showings are;
Black necked Grebe
Grasshopper Warbler
Ruff
Ringed Plovers
Hobby
Juv & 2nd Winter Med Gull.

Unfortunately Birdforum is not exhibiting this year so no communal meeting place. I hope to find Steve Lister again this year as he knows the best Birding sites.

I hope you all have a wonderful time.

ps. Dont worry about the Welsh Wizard.... I will find him :t:

I'll be up there for the Saturday this year so will unfortunately miss you guys who'll be there on the Sunday :-C but I hope you all have a really great time, and you can definitely put me down as part of the posse for 2008. :t:

As for the Welsh Wizard - he did intend on staying more than one day, but due to lack of accommodation he'll be there just for the Saturday like me. |=)| It'll be great to meet you pie, Jim and any others there.

Janay has correctly informed you I see that I'm only there on the saturday, but after meeting you at the north west bird fair Steve, I'm glad I'm not there Sunday (I'm only joking by the way).

Now pie, what do you mean? you will find me? last time somone tried to do that they got lost :-O

I'm leaving home on Friday and staying for the week-end. As I said on another post I'll be by the RSPB stand at 2pm on the Sat if anyone wants the pleasure of meeting me. I'll be wearing a straw trilby hat.
HAPPY BIRDING.

Gert and I were going to try and put in an appearance on the Saturday but I can't go whilst the England Rugby are playing France. It would not be fair to you all as I just would not settle until "Les Blues" were put in their place. Still thinking of putting in an appearance on the Sunday though... What do you think?

No problem mate - allez les Blancs! - Have pm'd my mobile for you - give a call or text me anytime after 6am Sunday if you are going and we'll see you there. Jim will already be there of course.
