Hi all,

Looking for some ID help for a bird seen in Thailand on December 18th (or at least narrowing down the possibilities).

The bird was seen at the summit of Phu Suan Sai, at Phu Suan Sai National Park in Loei, north-eastern Thailand, at an elevation of around 1400m. My initial ID was a female niltava of some sort, probably Vivid Niltava based upon the lack of blue neck patch and white gorget, but I have very little experience with these birds in the field.

While not seen in these pics (the only ones I have), the bird had a solid black bill, and was a little smaller than the bulbuls in the same area (Ashy & Flavescent), but bigger than an Asian Brown Flycatcher.

Thanks for all suggestions,

Ben.
