Bird ID question, Guangxi and Hunan, China (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I’m traveling in China and in Yangshuo and Fenghuang spotted a little bird near water with the size and behaviour of a redstart, but brown with a white tail feathers that spread into a white triangle when it flies. Bobs but not as much as a wagtail. I’ve seen a few times, so I figure it’s common, but I’m only carrying field guides for Thailand and East Asia and just can’t figure out what it is. Thanks for any suggestions.

Absolutely! My field guide only has a side illustration of the female, and no mention of how prominent the white in the tail appears. I did notice it was alwaysThanks so much.
