Hi All,

Just back from a trip to Doi Inthanon National Park in the North of Thailand and i have a quite a few birds for identification.

Would appreciate the help with the IDs please. All seen on 14th October '18.

No.1 - Taken just out side Doi Inthanon in the Mae Chaem region around the Paddy Fields at low level.
No.2 - This was a very small bird about half way up Doi Inthanon.
No.3 - Taken in same location as No.2.
No.4 - Taken in same location as No.2.

I have a few more and will add in separate threads.

Thanks in advance!

1. Pied Bushchat
2. Plain Flowerpecker
3. A barbet, and seems to be a juvenile. Probably Golden-throated I think.
4. Juvenile flowerpecker, I wouldn't want to claim a species on this though.

I would say John is right with Golden-throated Barbet for no. 3.

The possibilities for no. 4 are juvenile Yellow-bellied or Fire-breasted Flowerpecker. The problem is that there are no images of the juvenile of the former on OBI, and the only image I can find of it on Google seems to have been removed from Pinterest, suggesting perhaps misidentification (I think it's actually Orange-bellied). However, I would say this species seems to have a shorter, stubbier bill than your bird looks to have.

This is the one image I could find on OBI of juvenile Fire-breasted:

Thanks Andy. I haven't used OBI before, thanks for the link.

Unfortunately i haven't got any more photos of number No.4, and its a little bit difficult to ID still.
