Bird nest in uttar prasesh, india (1 Viewer)

My husband was walking in a field near a village and came across a nest.
It is hot season in the plains of northern india, monsoon is just starting.
The nest was on the ground, very flat, just a few dry mulch-looking twigs/sticks composing the nest and a little grass.
There were 3 eggs, off-white with good amount of brown speckling, pointy on one end.
Guess-timating measurements the eggs were 1.5 inches long and the nest was 8" across.
Anyone have an idea what type of nest?
Thanks
