Black or Brown Falcon near Dalby, Qld, Australia (1 Viewer)

Hi guys. I saw this fellow just as the rain stopped, so he was darker due to being wet. As he dried he refused to show me enough of his legs for me to identify him. I couldn't see that he had any barring on his tail, but that could just mean he's young. Is there anyone more experienced that can help me out?

Suspect it's black falcon. I think we should expect to see more of a facial pattern (especially a pale cheek mark) if it were brown. I also think the head looks small and the wings long and "rangy" which are good for black

Hi Mungbeanweed and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

Agree, it's also seems long tailed, even from this angle.
