Blonde Female Cardinal (1 Viewer)

There are many Cardinals around my property but a couple days ago a female cardinal showed up at my feeders that looks like a very light blonde yellowish color. The wings are still grey but no sign of red. She is more timid than the rest so I haven’t gotten close enough for a good photo but I will keep trying. She is gorgeous.

Hi, first welcome to the forum. Your Cardinal might have some type of pigmentation problem. If she returns would it be possible to get a photo of her?

Someone in my intro thread said it could have been a Cedar Waxwing. That could be a possibility. I live 40 miles north of Nashville and have never seen one before. I have been watching with binoculars on and off all day and it hasn’t showed up. With snow on the ground and plenty of food, it should have been back. I need a camera with a telescopic lens. LOL

I did sprinkle some seed on the ground around the feeders for the the Towhees and Doves. Now I have a covey of Bob White Quail coming in from the brush. Im gonna have to get a part time job to feed these guys.
