hello,
i'm new to this forum. i have a buff-bellied wintering here. i was wondering if anyone else has one or more wintering over. my book shows them along the coast to the yucatan. i've had visitors before in the spring but never any this late in the year. i took a few photos with my dslr though not the best shots i've ever taken. he is very shy. i'm attaching a photo. i hope it works.

I just passed thru Bastrop on a cross-country bicycle trip. I've really kept my out open for hummingbirds but so far have seen none in Texas. I think your photo is quite good, the depth of field make the bird pop right out. I wish I had more time in Texas, but the nights are getting cold and I should be crossing the Louisiana state line in 2 days on my way to south Florida.
